2019 Kawasaki H2

The supercharged H2 gains 30 hp for the 2019 model year with Kawasaki’s claimed power figure jumping from 198 horsepower (200 PS) to 228 (231 PS), despite obtaining full Euro4 compliance.

Some of the extra power is due to some parts crossing over from the sport touring Ninja H2 SX. These include the air-filter, intake chamber, spark plugs and ECU but the H2 has not adopted the balanced Supercharger fitted to the SX model.

The new Ninja H2 spec also includes a move to the latest Brembo ‘Stylema’ calipers that feature better temperature regulation while Bridgestone come to the party with new RS11.

The new instruments have the same look and feel those currently fitted to the Ninja H2 SX SE but gain smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s new “Rideology” App. Once paired, the smart phone can display a number of items including vehicle information such as fuel level and battery condition as well as a riding log and service interval updates.

A new more durable paint finish is a noteworthy feature that, in suitably warm ambient temperatures, can “selfheal” minor scratches and scuffs in an impressively short time frame. Developed in-house by Kawasaki, the time between the appearance of a light scratch and “healing” is in a different league to similar automotive systems that can take weeks to fully “heal”.

“The visual impact and engineering prowess of the Ninja H2 will surely increase thanks to this major update. This Supercharged machine is the physical embodiment of our corporate strength. The addition of more power, smart phone “Rideology” technology and other specification upgrades for 2019 shows that, as a company, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible and delivering cutting edge motorcycles to the market.“
